Once again South Florida radio legend “Footy”, bring us Footy's 9th Annual Wing Ding Golf Classic Presented by Rothstein Rosenfeldt Adler, Attorneys at Law to benefit Here's Help, Inc. a substance abuse facility dedicated to successful treatment of substance disorders.
The tournament will be held on Friday, May 23, 2008 at the newly renovated Pembroke Pines Golf & Racquet Club. Considered to be one of Broward County's premiere private golf clubs, it features an exceptional 18 hole, par-72 golf course.
Teams of four or individual players are welcome, and the registration fee is $225.00 per player. The registration fee includes greens fees and cart, range balls during practice, lunch sponsored by Hooters & Dan Marino’s Fine Food & Spirits, team picture mounted on a plaque, official tournament commemorative shirt, all tournament amenities and competitions, dinner and gifts.
Pembroke Pines Golf & Racquet Club challenges the accomplished player, yet does not discourage the beginner. It is a course that is fun and exciting to play day after day. The course is kept in excellent condition and the greens are built to USGA specifications. Course facilities include a driving range, practice putting green, and practice pitch and chipping green.
Footy is known for his deeply rooted commitment to community service and has been a presence on South Florida radio for over 34 years. He was a co-host on a locally produced South Florida morning show from 1974 to 2006, thus holding the record of longest Top 40 CHR DJ in North America. Footy may have left Y100.7 in May 2006, but he hasn't left radio altogether. He’s back on Newsradio 610 AM/ WIOD with "The Footy Show,” which is all about South Florida – sometimes it's hilarious, sometimes very serious, but it is always compelling.
